Other equipment manufacturers selected either Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) or Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (CEGR) technology to meet Tier 4 requirements. This one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t take into consideration each machine’s engineering characteristics and application requirements.
Keeping you in mindOur decision to develop both SCR and CEGR technologies was easy because we understand your needs. We evaluated the applications you work in with each piece of equipment and determined the right technology for each machine.
Take skid steers, for example. Applying SCR technology has a greater impact on the overall cost of the machine due to their lower purchase price. Also, traditional skid steers run at steady engine speeds and loads, creating consistent heat to decrease particulate matter. CEGR / DPF is the right technology for this application based on value to the customer and operating characteristics.
However, using SCR on wheel loaders would be the correct technology because their application does not create the steady engine operation conditions that the skid steers had. SCR enables the engine to run at peak performance while regulating emissions.
