CASE 580N EP Backhoe Earns RER Award

CASE Construction Equipment’s 580N EP Tier 4 Final backhoe loader listed as winner of RER Magazine’s Innovative Product Awards’ earthmoving category.

CASE Construction Equipment has been awarded the Rental Equipment Register (RER) 2015 Innovative Product Award in the earthmoving category for the new 580N EP backhoe loader.

RER founded the Innovative Product Award in 2003 to reward excellence in innovation in the manufacture of products for the equipment rental industry. Covering more than a dozen equipment categories that encompass the wide variety of machines utilized in the equipment rental industry, RER’s Innovative Product Award covers a unique variety of product offerings. Its purpose is to recognize key innovations that enable rental customers to do their jobs more creatively and effectively and help rental operations run more smoothly and efficiently, as well as technological developments that move the industry forward.

In February of 2015, CASE introduced the 580N EP Tier 4 Final backhoe loader — a lower-horsepower version of the company’s popular 580N backhoe that maintains the same backhoe lift capacity and breakout force with greater fuel efficiency and a maintenance-free Tier 4 Final solution.

With its lower owning and operating costs and a maintenance-free Tier 4 Final emissions solution, the CASE 580N EP is built specifically for the rental market, new backhoe owners and contractors who haven’t bought a backhoe in awhile and don’t need the extra horsepower. The 580N EP features CASE’s particulate matter catalyst – a combination of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a high-efficiency flow-through filter that requires no fluids and no diesel particulate filter (DPF) maintenance/upkeep. At 74 horsepower – and with a backhoe bucket breakout force of 11,517 pounds, ground level backhoe lift capacity of 2,858 pounds, and peak torque of 233 foot-pounds – the 580N EP provides ample power and performance while still keeping fuel, maintenance, and owning and operating costs low. While the new model is designed to optimize efficiency and power for price-conscious buyers, it can be outfitted with a full selection of options for greater machine and attachment flexibility.
