Skid Steers - Case Skid Steer Loaders in South Africa
Case Skid Steer Loaders in South Africa
Skid steer loaders are some of the most compact and versatile loaders in the construction industry – with little to no room required to turn and manoeuvre the vehicle. These loaders are ideal in confined spaces where backhoe loaders cannot reach or fit. If your business needs a supplier of construction vehicles in South Africa, Case Construction is your answer. Our range includes backhoe and skid steer loaders, with a wide range of attachments to extend their functionality and efficiency onsite. Today, we will focus on skid steer loaders.
The Difference Between a Skid Steer Loader and Other Loaders
Backhoe loaders feature a tractor-like body that is fitted with front and rear attachments, mainly for digging purposes. Skid steer loaders are different – utilising the narrow, compact, and versatile body of a small forklift that allows the operator to turn the machine on a dime. The body is fitted with a counterbalance attachment that attaches to the rear of the vehicle, extending to the front where the attachment, which is normally a bucket, is held. Therefore, the operator can clearly see the movement of the attachment that is directly in front of them when operating such a machine.
What Does the Term “Skid Steer” Imply?
Skid steer loaders do not use the conventional method of changing the direction of the vehicle, as the wheels are in a fixed position that does not allow them to turn left or right. Instead, when the operator turns left, the wheels on the right side will rotate forwards, while the wheels on the left side will rotate backwards, making the vehicle rotate to the left, and vice versa when the operator turns right. Therefore, skid steer loaders are very popular to use in confined spaces, as they do not need an abundance of space to turn and manoeuvre.
Our Range of Skid Steer Loaders
Our range of skid steer loaders features 6 models to choose from, starting with the SR130B. This loader offers a 50% ROC (related operating capacity) of 590 kg, going up to 635 kg when counterweights are added. Its tipping load is rated at 1 179 kg. Powered by a 2-ℓ normally aspirated engine, the SR130B delivers a maximum torque output of 143 Nm @ 1 800 rpm, ensuring that it produces enough torque to carry a heavy load with ease.
