CASE Construction Equipment partners with alpinist Simone Moro to take compact machinery where few construction machines can go
CASE machines will support woodland management and high-altitude
construction projects in the mountains around Bergamo, including the restoration
of a refuge at 2,200 metres accessible only on foot or by air.
CASE Construction Equipment has signed an official agreement establishing a
close partnership with world-renowned mountaineer Simone Moro for the final
months of 2026 and throughout 2027.
Simone Moro is an internationally acclaimed alpinist holding multiple world
records, most notably achieving the highest number of first winter ascents on
8,000-meter peaks. In recent years, he has also established himself as an elite
helicopter pilot specializing in alpine rescue operations across the mountains of
Nepal, executing some of the highest-altitude wall rescues ever recorded at
approximately 7,000 meters. Simone is also an established author, having published
13 books translated into 7 languages. A motivational speaker and influential
public figure, he connects daily with an engaged community of over 1
million followers who closely track his expeditions.
As part of the collaboration, Moro has purchased a CASE 21F compact wheel loader
and CX19D mini excavator for forestry, agricultural and land-management
activities across the mountainous terrain surrounding Bergamo.
Their capabilities will be put to an even more unusual test in spring 2027, when
the CX19D will be transported by helicopter to a high-altitude refuge in the Alps,
approximately 2,200 metres above sea level, where it will support restoration
and construction work at a site accessible only on foot or by air.
Reflecting on the partnership and the projects ahead, Simone Moro said: “I’m
taking on something completely new, building a property from scratch in the hills
above Bergamo. I never want to lose the passion for embracing new challenges
and starting from zero. I still have so much to learn about forestry, agriculture,
and land management, which makes having a reliable partner by my side
essential. When I met CASE, there was an immediate connection. We share the
same values of preparation, precision and reliability, and I like the fact that this
partnership is not just about a name – we are working together on real projects.
I am very excited about what comes next.”
The two compact machines have been selected for their versatility and suitability
to the challenging terrain, with each taking on a different role in Simone's
projects.
The 21F:
- woodland maintenance
- clearing brush
- agricultural/land management
- roads and trails
- wildfire-risk mitigation
The CX19D:
- high-altitude construction working at 2,200 m
- restricted access - transported by helicopter
- construction and restoration of a mountain refuge
Commenting on the partnership, Massimo Alzati, EMEA Marketing & Commercial
Operations for CNH Construction Equipment, said: “This collaboration is a great
example of the kind of partnership we want to build at CASE. Simone is not only
an internationally renowned alpinist, but someone who shares our focus on preparation,
precision and performance in demanding environments. Most importantly,
this is a partnership grounded in real projects, where our machines will be put to
work in challenging environments and demonstrate what they can do in the real
world. We are excited to support Simone as he takes on these projects and to
see our machines play a practical role in bringing them to life.”
The progress of Simone’s projects and his milestones in this new earthmoving
adventure will be featured monthly across the official social media channels of
CASE Construction Equipment Europe and Simone Moro.
